If i could give a zero for the one that closed behind Diane's pets I would. They took my deposit, knowing they were probably going to close permanently. I called while the number was still active and people were still in office and left a voicemail to get my refund and they never called me back. Just wrong
I brought my 6mo old puppy here to get spayed. (2021) The staff is so friendly, & they call you to keep you updated on the status of your pet. The incision scar is very small & i’m very happy with the care they provided to my puppy. If you need a good but affordable place to take your pet, this is it !! Highly recommend.
Coming back to add that I brought another one of my puppies here to get spayed (2024) and I couldn’t be happier about my decision to come here. They are so kind and they really care about your pets. I will always use the affordable spay clinic!!
Honestly with the things that were tacked on for charges, you’re way better off taking your pet to an actual vet to get a neuter procedure done. They send a text to you that the animal can’t have food or water after midnight, I did just that but the paperwork when signing said to continue to give your pet water. Caused my cat to be dehydrated and tacked on an extra fee. The other fees I was made aware of beforehand. The actual pick up experience was also very rough. Waited for 10 minutes before being acknowledged as the person ahead was talking about personal stuff. I understand demonstrating good customer service but no one was acknowledged in the waiting room until the woman forgot her wallet in her car. There were also two receptionists at the front, one was very experienced and polite. Literally a complete sweetheart but when I asked the other woman if we could begin the checkout process (after 15 minutes of waiting and they only give you a half hour window to pick up your animal) while the other person was finishing up, she claimed she was new in a rather rude matter. Totally understandable and I stated I figured I would just ask but then the second the nice receptionist started to help me, the new one began to help all the other people in the waiting room. I guess your other customers are only important when it’s 5 minutes before the end of pick up time. Went here because people had recommended it but after calling my vet, it literally would have been the same rate. Shop around and don’t hire someone who isn’t willing to at least act like they’ll help you.
Edit: Because this, vet did decide to respond in a condescending matter and clearly was unable to understand my true frustrations with my visit there in the fact that the receptionist basically refused to help and stated that she was unable to but immediately started helping other patients the moment the other receptionist did help me. It was rude. To take it out on a customer and not address it with the employee is clearly the issue. I was completely aware of the fee for my cat being in heat and was okay with that. YOU SPECIFICALLY SENT A TEXT OUT THE NIGHT BEFORE TO ME STATING NOT TO GIVE MY CAT FOOD OR WATER PAST MIDNIGHT. Maybe you should revisit your policies and the automated messages you're sending to customers. I perfectly understood all the paperwork but when your clinic sends a text message to me stating otherwise then I follow that. Maybe that's why nearly 1/3 of your patients require hydration. To not just apologize for a poor experience at your clinic and instead belittle and take it out on me as if I don't understand that taking my animal to a vet is expensive. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats so I'm well aware of the expenses that come with them and can also verify that other vet hospitals can frequently work out to be the same rate after all the things that were added in here. My mother suggested I try this place so I did but even the owner's response to this was a disappointment.
Editing again: 4 years later, maybe you guys finally updated your paperwork but it’s interesting you responded to me and updated your response a year after this instead of just calling me when it happened. I would never go to any clinic that doesn’t follow up with their patients. Also if you want cheap you clearly get what you paid for if you tack on all the charges you guys added. I’ve gotten every animal operation from Coventry animal hospital since then including getting my Rottweiler spayed and you guys actually quoted me more than what they did
BUYER BEWARE
Just look at how they reply to criticism. Threats. Sad. Pathetic.
This "clinic" is a LITERAL back-alley spay/neuter mill. They'll undoubtedly want you to keep that cell phone on like they state in their paperwork. Not in case of an emergency, but so they can hike the price on you. This is what they did to me. I dropped off, and within 27 minutes was contacted to say that our 4 month old kitten had "the worst umbilical hernia they'd ever seen," and so it would be more than the price range laid out in the contract. No explanations given, of course, because the most severe umbilical hernias are either emergent, or require a little more work than just pushing everything back into the hole. That is why they advertise a sliding scale.
I guess they don't realize that some people work with animals for a living too.
Didn't expect that we know anything I am sure. Can't imagine (check the reviews...) how many other people they have taken advantage of.
So the charge was agreed to, because at this point we were already charged, had waited months for the appointment, and our kitten was already there (for hours by the point I got her back - I had to leave work to do so).
How traumatic!
And the exposure to other animals?!
Well apparently the receptionist didn't appreciate that I told her this is disingenuous, and a poor way to do business. NEVER a raised voice or curse word was uttered, this is important. I am working too, it pays to be professional and simply nice. Apparently the DVM didn't appreciate me being upset about the egregious UPcharge that I still agreed to anyway, and told me "come get your cat we will not be servicing you at any time." That's right, my kitten with this "worst ever" umbilical hernia was refused treatment because of someone who cannot manage their feelings, that is not my problem clearly it is yours. Are you kidding me?? I have about had it with this string of Veterinary establishments who put money, and ego, above the animals. It is getting very tiring. With my wife having been an animal care professional for 15 years, we cannot in good conscience recommend this grifter. We know that there are unforeseen circumstances that may involve more supplies/funds, that is why a sliding scale (a SPECIFICALLY PRICED ONE) was on the contract. You can't just change the agreed upon amount on an already signed contract without some kind of addendum (the contract was physically changed, more on that). I'd love to have more information about the supposed severity of my cats health condition seeing as you are a vet. Her hernia is SO severe, and detrimental that you just sent her home without any more information? In fact, we had to fight (read I had to request a POLICE OFFICER be dispatched - they threatened to call on me when I wouldn't leave without due proof of the situation even going so far as to say (the DVM here) that "you'll get exactly what you deserve" he was unclear as to whether that was a threat when asked, so I handled that for them by calling myself) just to get proof of refund (whenever that will come through) and to get back my executable contract which is no longer valid. I was given a marked up COPY with no signature note by me indicating agreement to this scale, it is simply written in. No change order of any kind. Putting my not yet vaccinated kitten in undue risk is just for someone to get all up in their feels about a "meany" on the phone. Some nice person there even spilled coffee on her carrier. I am standing here, and as I am scribing this I realized we very likely dodged a bullet. Better to get my money & my cat back alive. For any worried readers our cat is just fine, if she were showing signs of constriction she would have been at a REAL vet. Umbilical hernias are extremely common. SO common they include the repair in spay procedures routinely. My wifes' review has an image attached of the marked up contract, that is a load of something.
Oh and when they brought out my cat finally and then my refund papers they left them both over 10' from me.
