We first saw Dr. Maro for an emergency visit when my dog Maizie suffered a spinal cord injury and was carried into the office in excruciating pain and losing function in her back end. She had severe nerve damage that left her unable to use her back legs or control her bladder or bowels. Dr. Maro fit Maizie into their fully booked schedule and examined her, ran diagnostics, and began treating her. Maizie was subsequently treated at Cranberry Holistic Pet Care and Ellwood Animal Hospital for 5 months, slowly making improvements, until she took her first steps on her own unassisted! It was a happy day for all. We will forever be grateful that Dr. Maro had the knowledge, experience, technology, and skill to treat Maizie and help her reach her full potential. Acupuncture (electro acupuncture, B12 aquapuncture, ozone acupuncture), chiropractic, Sanawave, massage, NAET, underwater treadmill, Ozone therapy, Chinese Herbs, and more were all part of Maizie's recovery. Dr. Maro has many more options for animals than a conventional vet practice has. Her passion for helping people and pets is evident. We’ve been seeing Dr. Maro at Cranberry Holistic Pet Hospital for about two years, and I’m incredibly grateful for the care she has given my dog.
I originally switched from a traditional veterinary practice because I wanted a more holistic approach that focuses on overall wellness and natural treatments whenever possible. That philosophy aligns with how I live, and Dr. Maro truly takes the time to look at the whole picture rather than just treating symptoms.
During a routine visit, she asked how long my dog had a lump in his neck. I was surprised because I massage him regularly and hadn’t noticed anything. We monitored it closely and tried conservative treatments, but when it didn’t improve, she recommended surgery.
What we discovered was shocking. The tumor was tucked into a very tricky area and ended up being the size of a small lemon. Dr. Maro did an excellent job removing it. If she hadn’t been so thorough and in tune with him, it likely would not have been found until it was too late. I’m forever grateful for her attentiveness and skill.
The entire team at the practice is just as wonderful. Everyone is caring, kind, and truly loves the animals they work with. My pup gets excited when he sees Starrsha, and Connie and the rest of the techs and staff are always warm, patient, and compassionate. I can’t say enough good things about the people there. I wouldn’t have stayed with this practice for as long as I have if the doctor or the staff weren’t exceptional.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AT THIS PLACE!!! They literally don’t care about you or your pet. My boy had emergency surgery to remove his spleen and he ended up having an aggressive cancer. I called them to see what I should do and if anything I can start giving him. They told me to come and make an appointment. So yes right after emergency surgery let me drag my dog in the car for an hour both ways to sit and wait for the vet for another hour to just tell me what I can do. I’ve been going there for years and have all his charts I shouldn’t have to make that trip. I’ve known other vets to help and prescribe stuff and not have to come in. I regret ever going to see Dr. Maro.
My 8 year old Rottweiler was showing lameness in his left front leg. Dr. Maro discovered some arthritis in his left elbow and did an ozone injection there. Since the injection in December 2025, he has shown vast improvement in his gait, no more lameness and is keeping up running with his 4 year old English lab sister. He was also diagnosed with Lyme in 2019, at 2 years old, that was making him very sick. Prior to finding Dr. Maro, we tried doxycycline for 3 months but it wasn’t resolving all his symptoms and also making his stomach upset. I knew we needed a more holistic approach and we found Dr. Maro. Through her care, he fully recovered from Lyme in a short time and has tested negative for 6 years now. Dr. Maro has been instrumental in resolving many health issues for him and keeping him in a state of vibrant health and vitality.
