I visited Delaware County Animal Hospital for a routine physical and rabies vaccination for my dog. In addition to those services, I wanted to ask about a concern: my dog had vomited the night before and wasn’t eating that morning. I would like to start by saying the assistant at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. She was warm, welcoming, and truly lights up the room with her positive attitude. Her professionalism and kindness immediately put me at ease. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Lee was very different. When he entered the exam room, he made brief eye contact once and asked how he could help. I explained that we were there for a physical, a rabies vaccination, and that I was concerned about my dog’s vomiting and lack of appetite. Rather than addressing my concerns directly, he focused on questioning my feeding routine. While he took notes, he did not offer advice, recommendations, or reassurance regarding the symptoms I described. I felt that my concerns were dismissed. The exam and vaccination were completed without any meaningful discussion about the issue I raised. After administering the vaccine, Dr. Lee turned away, wrote something down, and told me to wait out front. There was little communication and no effort to engage or reassure me as a worried pet owner. Dr. Lee may be clinically competent, but on this visit, his bedside manner was lacking. I left feeling unheard and unsupported. Because of this experience, I will not be returning and would recommend others consider their options carefully when choosing a veterinary provider.
