Expensive with no real answers or increase to the pets quality of life. Would not recomend taking your pet there if they are having issues. The doctors don't seem to know what they are doing. It's been a few years since I've been there, but now a friend of mine is having the same issues with them.

It's now been over a month since our trip. My cat was falling over trying to walk, uneven pupils and breathing heavily. Metzgers is a 2 hour drive from home. As they're trying to figure out the issue they insist he got into medication. Me, knowing how it's stored and that we watch our kids when they take meds knew this wasn't an option but after trying to drill it into their heads I finally just wrote a list of medications. They hand it back to me and want me to call a hotline and pay $90 for the HOTLINE to diagnose and give treatment plan. Someone miles away over a phone...because that's accurate. I grabbed cash and ran out of the house and did not have a credit card to hand them. They fought with me over credit cards and finally when she realized I truly had no credit card she snaps "well I have 4 other people I can see instead". I immediately snapped at her so she knew exactly how we took that comment. No card, we don't care what happens to the cat. To solve her stupid comment blunder they decide it would be super nice of them to make the call...for $190 upcharge. I knew full well this was a neuro issue as he had signs in the past which we informed them of and there was no way he opened a bottle and put the lid back on so no human would notice. And as I said, we watch our kids take their meds. All this time the cat was stuffed in a box with oxygen. That was the only treatment. Knowing he was not drinking and the heat level they never gave fluids, I had to demand that. He stayed the night and next day they call saying he's walking and eating and can go home. Upon pick up I asked to see him and they refused til we were literally walking out the door. 2 hours back to home and he can't even walk out of the carrier. All we heard was how busy they were so im positive he was sent home to clear space because he absolutely would NOT eat or drink and could barely walk. I called them and this veterinarian on for the day agreed it sounded like a neuro/neurovasc issue. Along with every other vet we contacted. I was livid after 1200 plus they sent him home in the same condition and lied to us. They knew full well if I saw him before leaving id know he wasn't ok. 2 days later he gets worse and still won't eat or drink and is dehydrating rapidly and had to be put down. He was throwing clots. They were so fixated on their medication idea they missed the actual problem. When they sent their follow up text I told them exactly what happened and they said the office manager would contact me. Days later she calls. Long story short when I refused to play nice and pretend I was ok with their care she got upset and actually said to me "what do you want me to do about it?" Uuuh maybe pay the subsequent bills and cremation for starters since you guys misdiagnosed and did not treat him properly. If this was a human they would have some serious issues right now. The office manager didn't care about the experience or that he died, she just called to try and change my mind, accept their garbage "sympathies", forgive and not write a bad review. Oh, let's not forget when we first told them where meds are stored etc he couldn't have got into them, the girl (i know her name and it's hard to hold back from putting her out there) straight up accused us of illegal drugs in front of our 2 kids. The office manager also tried to deny upcharging me. Not only did I have my family witness this upcharge conversation, but someone on my phone overhearing it and a waiting room full of people. Her excuse the whole time on the phone was "I wasn't there" so when she said this never happened I asked her how she knows if she wasn't there and informed her many people heard this conversation. When she snidely said "what did we upcharge" I told her about the card and she responds "oh, well yeah that". But 2 minutes ago she was calling me a liar. You care so much metzgers, send the $290 for the subsequent vet, urn and cremation since YOU helped him get there. He NEVER should have been sent home to suffer like that.
